An ex government entity rolled into a private corporation. It was high time for change. Change across all boards and levels. Time to question and address the work ethic and hierarchal structure which existed in this large office set up and manifested itself both physically and psychologically.
The departure point was to strip back the dated 90’s office block and expose the industrial structure. All services were proposed to be left exposed reflecting the infrastructural nature of the company. Hot desking and large open plan working areas allowed for a more transparent structure. The infiltration of chill out and relaxation spots ensured the long spaces did not read like a factory line ensuring staff moved around and interacted with their colleagues from varying departments.
The central atrium hub was developed to serve as a piazza, the heart and energy of the office space feeding into all overlooking and interconnected spaces.
